Prospective Students
Kankakee Community College is the smart choice - the right choice - for a quality college education. Whether students plan to earn a bachelor's degree or acquire the skills needed to enter the job market right away, KCC has the appropriate program of study. At KCC, students receive individualized instruction from experienced faculty. We also have one of the strongest and nationally renowned systems of support services to help students succeed. In addition, we offer a very pleasant atmosphere in which to pursue a college education.
Centrally located on a scenic, 178-acre campus along the Kankakee River, our modern facilities include more than 72 classrooms and laboratories, a Learning Resource Center (library) with access to more than 13 million volumes, an activities building with 1,100 seat gymnasium and Fitness Center.
KCC offers a solid educational foundation. More than 60% of KCC students plan to transfer to four-year colleges or universities. Typically, after KCC students transfer, they earn higher GPAs at the four-year school than the students who began there as freshmen.
Our career degree programs have earned recognition and distinction among area employers. Two of the area's largest employers, Riverside HealthCare and Provena St. Mary's Hospital, actively recruit our graduates for employment.
KCC offers an exceptional, quality education at very affordable prices. The direct cost (tuition, fees and books) of attending KCC full-time for one year is about $2,400. This is about 75% less than the cost for one year at a state university. It's also a fraction of what it would cost your son or daughter to attend a private college for one year.
