Admissions

Thank you for considering enrollment at KCC! This section outlines the enrollment process in a step-by-step fashion, but submitting an application for admission, and scheduling a COMPASS test and an advisement appointment are three important actions.

KCC has an open admissions policy. That means we accept students for general admission who have obtained their high school diplomas or GEDs.

It is recommended that students complete and submit an Admissions Form several weeks prior to the semester that you plan to attend KCC. You may apply for admissions right up until classes begin each semester, but this may delay your enrollment and limit your course selection. Please note Health Careers programs have limited enrollment and individual application deadlines and testing requirements.

Most students will be required to take our COMPASS test so classes can be selected which maximize their chance for success. If a student wishes to have ACT scores on file at KCC, a copy should be sent electronically from ACT to KCC's Office of Admissions and Registration. The ACT code number for KCC is 010530. For information on ordering reports, consult a KCC adviser.

Students interested in earning a degree at KCC should request an official transcript from all high schools and colleges previously attended be mailed directly to: Office of Admissions and Registration; 100 College Drive; Kankakee IL 60901.
