Transfer Center

The Spring College Fair will be held at KCC on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. Representatives from approximately 40 four-year colleges and universities will be at KCC to talk with you about transferring to their schools.

Students planning to transfer from KCC to four-year colleges or universities to complete their baccalaureate degrees can receive assistance through the Transfer Center. The goal of the Transfer Center is to increase the number of students who complete degree requirements at KCC and successfully transfer to four-year institutions.

KCC participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide transfer agreement for general education courses. For more information about IAI, go to their website at www.itransfer.org and choose IAI.

To find out how your courses will count toward a bachelor's degree, go to www.itransfer.org and choose CAS (Course Applicability System). Information about how courses transfer between participating institutions, the majors institutions offer, the graduation requirements for different majors, and how summer course credits transfer to satisfy degree requirements is available.

Online bachelor's degree completion

Offered through a partnership, the online bachelor's degree completion program provides students a convenient way to earn their bachelor's degree. KCC currently has bachelor's degree completion agreements with Franklin University of Columbus, Ohio; the University of Illinois at Springfield; and Capella University of Minneapolis.

The online bachelor's degree completion program combines on-campus classes at KCC with online courses through these universities. After students earn an associate degree from KCC, they can complete "bridge" courses at KCC and take online classes through these universities.
