Student Advisory Council
Being a member of the Student Advisory Council (SAC) is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and become a student leader. The SAC:
- represents the interests of the KCC student body to the college administration
- provides support to student organizations in fundraising and programming efforts
- promotes college pride and participation in student events.
Council members gain valuable work and leadership experience, and network with college administration, faculty and staff.
2025-26 SAC accepting members now
The 2025-26 Student Advisory Council is accepting members! Any student enrolled in six or more semester hours at KCC with a 2.25 GPA or higher may apply to become a Student Advisory Council member. If you are interested in serving, complete the SAC application.
Meetings
The Student Advisory Council will meet on the following dates. The meeting will be hosted in-person and virtually via Microsoft Teams. All meetings are scheduled for 3:00pm. Contact studentlife@kcc.edu to request the virtual meeting link.

Student Trustee
The Student Trustee application for the 2026–2027 academic year is now live! We are especially encouraging eligible second-year students to apply for this prestigious leadership opportunity. The Student Trustee serves as the official student representative to the Kankakee Community College Board of Trustees, ensuring the student voice is represented in institutional discussions and decisions. Students selected for this role will receive a $5,000 scholarship for the 2026–2027 school year.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be enrolled in a minimum of three (3) credit hours in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
- Have sophomore standing (completed at least 30 credit hours) by Fall 2026.
- Maintain residency in District 520.
- Currently have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher.
- Be in good academic and conduct standing with the College.
- Serve the required attendance at Board Meetings.
- Attend meetings or workshops as requested by the Board, College President, and Vice President of Student Affairs or designee.

Student Advisory Council membership applications are accepted year-round. You will be notified within two weeks by your KCC student email if you have been selected to join the KCC Student Advisory Council.
