Residency for KCC Health Careers Programs
Applicants who are legal residents of the Kankakee Community College District will be given preference for admission, provided all admission criteria are met. All eligible, in-district applicants will be ranked and accepted prior to out-of-district applicants.
Applicants will be required to show a driver's license or State of Illinois ID as proof of residency as part of the application process, and students admitted to the program will be required to show proof of residency at the time of registration each term. The official definition of residency and description of KCC's boundaries are available in Student Affairs.

Cooperative Agreements
Through cooperative agreements and chargebacks, Illinois community colleges work together to provide you with the most affordable education possible. If your community college does not offer a particular program, a cooperative agreement allows you to pay the in-district tuition rate and be ranked as an indistrict student at KCC.
To be considered, you must:
- Live outside the boundaries of KCC District 520.
- Contact your home community college and follow their process for cooperative agreements.
- Provide documentation to KCC that your cooperative agreement has been approved.
Notes:
- The home community college may require that prerequisites and general education courses are completed at their institution.
- Applicants using cooperative agreements must meet the 2.5 GPA requirement at their home community college.
- Cooperative agreements may need to be updated regularly at the discretion of the home community college.
